Position Summary
We are seeking two dynamic and results-driven Account Managers to oversee and manage the procurement process of our agricultural commodities by buyers. This role involves working closely with clients, managing their purchasing needs, streamlining the logistics chain, and ensuring on-time, accurate, and profitable transactions.
You will serve as the key point of contact for assigned accounts, fostering relationships, forecasting needs, and coordinating between internal supply/logistics teams and external buyers to deliver smooth, efficient procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between buyers and internal teams to manage procurement of agricultural products (e.g., grains, seeds, produce, etc.)
- Understand buyer needs and product specifications to provide tailored procurement solutions.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Track, update, and manage order statuses, delivery schedules, and potential delays.
- Analyze purchasing trends and provide strategic recommendations for contract improvements or volume commitments.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients to drive retention and account growth.
- Assist with pricing strategies, RFQs, and contract negotiations in alignment with company goals.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international procurement regulations.
- Work closely with inventory, warehousing, and finance departments to ensure smooth fulfillment and billing processes.
- Report regularly on account performance, market trends, and forecasts.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Agriculture, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in account management, procurement, or logistics, ideally in the agricultural commodities sector.
- Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, commodity trading, and logistics coordination.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with import/export processes, Incoterms, and commodity pricing trends.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in using procurement and CRM software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills (Not Required but a Plus)
- Experience working with international buyers or cross-border logistics.
- Knowledge of agricultural seasonality and sourcing cycles.
- Understanding of sustainability and traceability in agri-supply chains.
