Tasks required:
- Manipulate and edit videos in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Take a brief to grasp clients needs and specifications
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
- Create rough and final cuts
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
- Other ad hoc tasks that would be assigned
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor is required
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut)
- Deep understanding of digital trends and editing principles as well as effective social media video formatting and composition
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
- Exhibit strong work ethic and initiative
- Clear and concise communicator with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-disciplined and organized; able to consistently hit daily and monthly targets with limited supervision
