Overview:
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and analytical Accountant with Australian tax knowledge and experience to support the financial operations of the business. This role involves accurate bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, handling tax-related documentation, and providing financial insights. Proficiency in Xero is required. A CPA license is a plus, but not required.
Tasks required:
- Perform accurate bookkeeping, including recording, reconciling, and maintaining financial transactions
- Prepare and review financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist in the preparation of tax reports and filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Audit individual accounts on a scheduled or ad hoc basis to check for accuracy and discrepancies
- Analyze financial data and perform ratio calculations to assess the company’s financial health
- Provide insights and recommendations on budgets, forecasts, and other financial decisions
- Publish and organize audited financial statements and maintain documentation
- Conduct financial research to support data-driven decisions and advisory services
- Perform other accounting and finance-related ad hoc tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably with Australian tax knowledge and experience
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax documentation
- Proficiency in using Xero accounting software (required)
- CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to explain complex financial data in a clear, understandable way
- High attention to detail and strong analytical and organizational skills
- Familiarity with accounting principles, compliance standards, and audit processes
- Proficient with current technologies (e.g., cloud services, desktop sharing, spreadsheets)
- Self-disciplined and capable of managing multiple tasks with limited supervision
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest accounting tools and practices
