Overview:

We are seeking two highly motivated Junior Privacy Experts/Data Privacy Officers (SMEs) to join our team in a part-time capacity. Ideal candidates will bring a foundational understanding of privacy legislation and compliance, particularly within the Canadian regulatory landscape or its equivalent. You’ll work across multiple projects, providing subject matter expertise, conducting Privacy Impact Assessments, and supporting privacy initiatives in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Tasks required:

  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and support privacy-by-design reviews.
  • Interpret and apply relevant privacy laws and regulations (e.g.,  Privacy Act, PIPEDA, GDPR, or equivalents).
  • Assist in developing privacy-related documentation, including policies, procedures, and notices.
  • Support project teams with privacy risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Consult on data handling practices to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Collaborate across internal and client-facing teams on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide ad hoc privacy guidance and recommendations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a consulting environment is a PLUS.
  • 1–3 years of experience in privacy compliance or legislation, preferably Canadian or equivalent jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) is a must.
  • Prior experience or exposure in a consulting or client-service environment is a strong plus.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Comfortable managing several projects simultaneously and switching between tasks as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
