Tasks required:
- Act as the primary liaison between buyers and internal teams to manage procurement of agricultural products (e.g., grains, seeds, produce, etc.)
- Understand buyer needs and product specifications to provide tailored procurement solutions.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Track, update, and manage order statuses, delivery schedules, and potential delays.
- Analyze purchasing trends and provide strategic recommendations for contract improvements or volume commitments.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients to drive retention and account growth.
- Assist with pricing strategies, RFQs, and contract negotiations in alignment with company goals.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international procurement regulations.
- Work closely with inventory, warehousing, and finance departments to ensure smooth fulfillment and billing processes.
- Report regularly on account performance, market trends, and forecasts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Agriculture, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in account management, procurement, or logistics, ideally in the agricultural commodities sector.
- Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, commodity trading, and logistics coordination.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with import/export processes, Incoterms, and commodity pricing trends.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in using procurement and CRM software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with international buyers or cross-border logistics.
- Knowledge of agricultural seasonality and sourcing cycles.
- Understanding of sustainability and traceability in agri-supply chains.
